Battery electric (BEV)
Runs only on its battery. You charge at home, at work or on the road — no fuel, no oil changes, fewer moving parts.
BrowsePlug-in hybrid (PHEV)
A smaller battery you plug in for everyday electric driving, with a petrol engine for longer trips.

Charges its own small battery as you drive and brake. Nothing to plug in; uses less fuel than petrol alone.
